Nature will Take your Breath away

This particular week I've seen many different beaches, no idea why exactly, but the weather was perfect and everyone had a day to spare. The Sunday I spent on Cronulla beach, because again, the public transport is so cheap on Sundays and it was a two hour sit in the train to get there. I went there with Kate and Laura, the rest was probably working, and when we got to our destination the weather turned out to be HORRIBLE. It was pouring the entire time and it did not look like it was going to get better any time soon, but at least it wasn't cold out. We'd bought some wine before getting to the beach and luckily for us, we found a perfect spot to sit under some rocks, just close enough so the rain couldn't touch us. The thunder and lightning made the scene even prettier, and when the rainbow came out our day was complete. With a blanket, some good music, a few surfers, cookies and of course the wine, we had a fun afternoon.

We'd also planned to go to the horse races at Royal Randwick with our housemates this week, which is a very fancy happening and we all had to go shopping before we could show ourselves there. We took a free shuttlebus, filled with other fancy-dressers, but we still felt out of place as millennials between these people with money and an obvious dose of life-experience. When we arrived there we were surrounded by people from all ages, all women on heels and men in suits, and everyone looked like they knew what they were doing. We didn't. We started off getting ourselves some drinks and halfway during the second race we started betting some money on the horses with the weirdest names (which I think is how this thing works). I didn't win any money, but a friend of mine won about four times before he realised that keeping the money was probably wiser than spending it on more bets risking to lose it all. We had a fantastic afternoon, sitting in the sun and pretending to be something none of us actually was, namely rich and high-class. At the end of the day we were all so tired, but also very satisfied and most of us pretty broke.

The rest of the week I went to different beaches with Nicky, where we joined some yoga-classes during sunrise. I sat on one of the most beautiful beaches I'd ever seen and Sam, Nicky and I walked onto a nude beach by accident. We accepted our fate and had a fun time there, regardless of all the old naked people. Again, the view from the ferry at night was breathtaking and unforgettable. Finally, at the end of that week we decided to go to Morisset park: a park invaded by kangaroos, tall and scary, cute and little, some still in the pouch. Most came up to us searching for carrots and other food, but Nicky, Sam and I hadn't brought anything with us. In the end they stayed for the cuddles and for a scratch on their chest or on the side of the head. So soft, very dog-like, 10/10 would recommend.

I love to travel anywhere and besides some good company, my camera is the only thing I need by my side. All the photos posted on this site will be selfmade. Promise. All the words will also be my own, unless they're Disney-quotes.

If there are mistakes in my English, please be a grammar-nazi. Some of my teachers will probably be reading this. Also, if you have tips or feedback, I'd love to hear it. Cheers x
